During the week of spring break, armed men dressed in tactical gear ran through the hallways of Unity High School, but there was nothing wrong.
The men were law enforcement officers training for an “active shooter” response scenario.

The East Central Illinois Police Training Project, administered by the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, is sponsoring a 32-hour state-certified course to train law enforcement officers on patrolling the community using bicycles.

Champaign County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a robbery at the Busey Bank in Savoy that occurred Friday morning.
Sheriff Dan Walsh said a man wearing a white mask entered the bank at 108 Arbours Drive about 9:55 a.m., displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The man was given cash and left, headed north on Woodfield Drive.
