The Savoy Recreation Center hosted its annual Daddy/Daughter Dance on Feb. 8. Girls and their dads enjoyed music and refreshments and received keepsake photos.
Community members are invited to volunteer at a local natural area in celebration of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, Sept. 29. The daylong event is the 19th annual celebration of the many natural areas in the United States, and is intended to increase awareness of public lands and encourage volunteerism and land stewardship.

The Tolono Park District's Tball program wrapped up its season with final games on Saturday morning at West Side Park. The games were followed by a family cookout.
The Tolono Park District held its Fit 4 Fun day camp June 11 through 15 at West Side Park in Tolono. The camp was open to ages 5 to 12. Each day campers ate snacks, participated in arts and crafts and played games.
The Village of Savoy will host a public information session at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the Savoy Municipal Center, 611 N. Dunlap Ave., Savoy, to discuss plans for a multi-use bicycle/pedestrian trail in the village.
The Paxton Community Sale, presented by the Paxton Park District, is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 7. It will be held at Coady Park, 601 S. Fall St, Paxton.
Items will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 6. On sale day, items can be accepted from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. To consign items, check in at the park district building.
