Football skill camp planned

Unity football will host a skill camp for students in grades fourth through eighth focusing on skill development for quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers.
The clinic is for development of skills that will be needed to succeed on the field. Current Unity coaches, players and alums will assist with the camp.


Rockets win consolation championship at Williamsville

Before the Williamsville Holiday Tournament got under way last Wednesday, the Unity High School boys’ basketball team had a goal in mind, and that was to play four games.


Unity football ties for Illini Prairie championship, earns 24th straight playoff bid

Many people that follow high school football in the area felt that 2017 would be an “all in” year for the Unity Rockets. Head Coach Scott Hamilton’s Rockets were prepared to enter a new conference, the Illini Prairie, comprised of schools from the former Okaw Valley and Corn Belt conferences. Unity was returning 21 seniors, many who were playing their second (or third) year on the varsity.


Unity junior varsity boys off to 5-1 start to season

While the Unity boys’ varsity basketball team has gone 6-0 to start the 2017-18 season, the Rocket junior varsity squad has been almost as hot, winning five of their first six outings, including several that have gone right down to the wire.


Wrestling takes care of BH/RA

The Unity High School wrestling team recorded a dual-match victory Tuesday night at Osborn Gym in Tolono, when the Rockets defeated Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, 63-18.
The win over the Blue Devils was Unity’s 13th dual victory of the season against three losses and was the Rockets’ final tuneup before the New Year’s Challenge Duals Dec. 29 to 30 at Danville.


Rockets hold on to win Illini Prairie Conference opener

The Unity Rockets used a career-high 34 points from Elyce Knudsen and a rebound of a missed free throw in the final seconds to edge the Rantoul Eagles 59-58 Monday night in the Illini Prairie Conference girls’ basketball opener for both teams at Rantoul.


Rockets go to 6-0 with road win at Paris

The Unity Rockets boys’ basketball team led by as many as 17 points early in the fourth quarter but had to withstand a five-minute scoring drought and a furious Paris rally to hold off the host Tigers 56-52 in a nonconference game Tuesday night.


Ethan Miebach chosen to play in Shrine All-Star game

Unity High School senior Ethan Miebach has been selected to play in the 44th annual Illinois Shrine All-Star Football Game, which will be played on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Tucci Stadium on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.


Rockets win championship of Unity Invitational wrestling

For the first time in several years, the Unity High School wrestlers won their own invitational tournament, claiming the championship of the Unity Invitational Saturday at the Rocket Center. The Rockets compiled a total of 184 points to edge runner-up St. Joseph-Ogden for the title by 14 points.


Unity girls stretch win streak to three games

The Unity High School girls’ basketball team swept a trio of Little Okaw Valley Conference schools last week to push its winning streak to three games and its overall record to 8-3 for the season.
