Vanessa Burgett, graphic designer for Krannert Center for the Performing Arts in Champaign, will provide a free lecture for Parkland College’s MEET THE PROS series, on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
Burgett’s talk will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in room C118 at the campus and is open to the public. She will discuss her print, animations and motion graphics work as a part of Krannert’s talented marketing team and “the constant development that results from the merging of ideas.”
“I have always looked at 2D space and seen the potential for adding the next layer of making the graphics move,” Burgett said. “With the multi-dimensional aspect of motion graphics, you can challenge both space and the viewer's perspective by studying and exploring new ways to make the elements travel, morph and disappear within space and time in a way that's engaging.”
The Deerfield native and Parkland alumnus created the Champaign-Urbana Micro-Urban video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz1iDpiVPpw&feature=channel_video_title, as well as television commercials, environmental videos and other video-based projects for Krannert Center. The MEET THE PROS lecture series is sponsored by Parkland’s Graphic Design department and 40North/88West. For more information about this event visit http://gds.parkland.edu/pros.
