Kenneth Hall, assistant professor in Painting and Drawing at the University of Northern Iowa, borrows recognizable figures within art history’s most famous paintings in some his works, on display at the Parkland Art Gallery through March 27.
Combining realism with decorative patterns and gestural forms, he gives new meaning to familiar imagery.
An artist reception and gallery talk will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, in the gallery lounge. An additional lecture by Hall will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 16 in the gallery.
Contact the gallery at (217) 351-2485 for more information.
