Aldi store opens doors

It was a sunny fall morning for the grand opening ceremony at the new Savoy Aldi grocery store. 
The store was opened at 8:30 a.m. Friday with a ribbon cutting by Village President Joan Dykstra with help from trustees A.J. Ruggeri, Heather Mangian, Dee Shonkwiler and Jan Niccum. A special guest included former Savoy Village President Robert McCleary, who began the process of attracting Aldi to the Savoy area many years ago.
