Dual credit to be considered

The Unit 7 school board is expected to decide at its next meeting whether to approve dual credit for Parkland College’s new Early Transfer Academy.
Unity High School has been participating in Parkland’s Education for Employment program, in which juniors and seniors can enroll in dual credit classes in automotive technology, computer networking, criminal justice, certified nursing assistant, emergency medical services and manufacturing. Students also learn hands-on skills, and some of the programs are aligned with Parkland certificates and/or state licenses.
