Public information session on Savoy multi-use trail scheduled

The Village of Savoy will host a public information session at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the Savoy Municipal Center, 611 N. Dunlap Ave., Savoy, to discuss plans for a multi-use bicycle/pedestrian trail in the village. A trail is planned that will interconnect Colbert Park, the new Savoy school and much of the Prairie Fields subdivision with the businesses at Curtis Road and Dunlap Avenue, as well as the existing trail system that parallels Curtis Road and Prospect Avenue. Exhibits will be on display to show the proposed trail alignment, and village staff will be on hand to record public comment and answer questions.
The village plans to submit an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) application for the project in hopes of receiving funding to build the trail in the near future. Public participation is greatly encouraged, so if you or anyone you know is interested in the project please attend on April 24.
