Closing on sale of property for drainage project slated

The village’s attorney, Marc Miller, informed the village board last Wednesday night that the closing on the sale of Premier Cooperative’s property to the village is expected to take place next week.
The village is buying the cooperative’s 8.9-acre farm field near the village’s water tower for $100,000. A 5.6-acre detention pond will be constructed on the property to alleviate flooding problems in northeast Philo.
