Village will reimburse residents for septic issues

The village will reimburse two residents of the 400 block of East Washington Street $817 for having to pump out their septic system twice as a result of a problem created by a village drainage tile.
The home’s previous owners placed the septic system underneath and close to the drainage tile, which was repaired after breaking, in 1984.
After the current homeowners twice cleaned out their septic system, the village spent another $981 to pump it out again and $1,940 to repair the tile, which was broken again and turned out to be the source of the problem.
