Mildred M. Janssen, 91, of Thomasboro passed away Easter morning, April 8, 2012, at Champaign Regional Care Center, Savoy.
She was born March 16, 1921, in Rantoul Township, a daughter of William and Henrietta (Weis) Loeschen. She married Rudolf Janssen on July 24, 1939, in Flatville. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (William) Van Tine of Summerfield, Fla.; a brother, Vernon (Erika) Loeschen of Paxton; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Strom; a son, Terry Janssen; two sisters and a brother.
Mildred was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she was an active parishioner. She farmed the Thomasboro area with her husband for many years. She enjoyed visiting with friends and acquaintances at Prairie Village.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Thomasboro. The Rev. Phillip Callahan officiated. She was buried beside her husband in Beckman Cemetery, Thomasboro.
Visitation was for one hour prior to the service at the church. Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul, is handling arrangements.
