Richard McDade

Richard McDade, 53, of Champaign passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012.
He was born in Champaign on March 9, 1959. He was preceded in death by his Grandpa and Granny, Ray and Aline Maxwell; his parents, Richard McDade and Peggy (Henry) Fitch; his sister, Nancy Harper; and a niece, Beth Ann Levitt.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Trudy McDade; daughters, Amanda (Rory) Overmyer, Jodi Cornett (Lawrence Davis), Tricia (Terry) Roberts of Champaign and Stephanie Cornett (Brian Bailey) of Alabama; sisters, Terry Stigall of Savoy, Vicky Levitt (Clyde) of Champaign and Anna McDade (Mike Fibich) of Nebraska; brother, Ronald (Crystal) McDade of Monticello; 11 nieces and nephews; and eight grandbabies.
Rick was a member of Laborers Local 703 for 33 years. He was an avid fan of drag racing, loved camping and his dogs, playing Master Chef on his grill, and riding his Harley.
His greatest joy was his grandson, LJ, and spending time with the rest of his grandbabies. He loved life and will be missed by all who came into contact with him.
The celebration of his life was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign.
The funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Owens Funeral Home. A gathering was held following the funeral at American Legion Post 24, 705 Bloomington Road, in Champaign.
