Beverley Sexton

Beverley Marie Sexton, 79, of Philo passed away at 12:42 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral Mass was 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Philo, with the Rev. Keith Walder officiating. Burial was at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Rosary was at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Freese Funeral Home, Tolono, is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Sexton was born March 2, 1938, at Tolono, a daughter to Lawrence and Rebecca Ochs Bleichner. She married Ronald Sexton on Dec. 14, 1985, in Urbana; he survives.
Also surviving are her daughters, Jody (Daniel) Boles and Julia (Richard) Clevenger; son-in-law, Michael Bowman; grandchildren, Jarrett (Tara) Biggerstaff, Matthew Clevenger, Phillip (April) Bowman, Misty (Devon) Welch and Brianna (Luke) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Andrew Kash, Brady, Daxton and Cooper Biggerstaff and Aubrey, Austin Clevenger, Jalen, Tessa and Jace Welch and Mabry and Laban Thomas; stepsons, Doug (Judy) Sexton, Roger (Lourdes) Sexton and Steven (Margaret) Sexton; stepgrandchildren, Jamie and Jacob Sexton, Josh and Isabell Sexton and Taryn and Trevor Sexton; step-great-grandson, Carson Sexton; siblings, Paul Bleichner, Janice Revell, Martina (Alan) Dial and Bob Bleichner; sisters-in-law, Christy Cook and Roberta Bleichner; in-laws, Maryann (James) Murphy, Gerry (Donna) Sexton, Patrick (Linda) Sexton, Richard (Linda) Sexton and Shirley Sexton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Phyllis Bowman; brothers, Carl Bleichner and LJ Bleichner; sisters-in-law, Anna Bleichner and Loyce Bleichner; and brothers-in-law, William, Daniel and Michael Sexton.
Beverly graduated from Unity High School in 1956. She enjoyed art, music, flowers, jewelry and animals. She had an adventurous spirit. She and Ron traveled to many states.
She loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball, the Fighting Illini and the Marching Band. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post 630 and American Legion Auxiliary Post 71.
She was employed by the Jolly Roger for over 40 years. She loved the Timpones and considered them her family. She was popular with many customers.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas School in Philo.
