David Hart

David P. Hart, 78, of Danville passed away at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1939, in Westville to Paul and Louise Hible Hart. David married Millie M. Roland on Sept. 16, 1960, in Catlin.
Millie survives, as well as three daughters, Holly M. Hart of Savoy, Jody (Steve) Otto of Avon, Ind., and Jill (Derrick) Swinford of Bismarck; four grandchildren, Chelsea (Jordan) Haynes, Jared Otto, Hannah Swinford and Jacob Otto; two great-grandchildren, Kiera Haynes and Ellie Haynes; and special Aunt, Sally Yerem.
David was preceded in death by one brother, Robert; one granddaughter, Lindsey Otto; and special Uncle, Jack Cottingham.
David was very patriotic and served in the National Guard.
He worked for Interstate Printers and Publishers for 28 years, starting as a truck driver and ending as vice president in charge of manufacturing.
He later operated a courier and delivery business for several years. He maintained a special working relationship with Cooke Business Forms in Danville.
He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and all types of car racing. He was a diehard fan of Illini football and basketball and the Chicago Bears.
David was a member of Danville American Legion Post 210.
Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Robison Chapel in Catlin.
David’s wishes were for cremation and a scattering of ashes will take place at a later date.
Memorials in his memory may be made to American Legion Post 210 or the Vermilion County Humane Society.
