UJHS falls to Mattoon in regional semis

The Unity Junior High School baseball team won its first 10 games of the 2017 season and received the top seed in the Class 2A regional tournament hosted by Charleston.
Unfortunately, the season took a downward turn over the final weekend of the regular season when the Rockets lost at Maroa-Forsyth, 9-7, on Saturday, Sept. 9, for their first loss of the season.
The following Monday, Sept. 11, Unity lost at home to Charleston in eight innings by a score of 5-4 in the regular-season finale.
