Rockets improve to 14-4 with Prairie Central win

The Unity High School boys’ basketball team improved its record to 14-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play with a 47-41 win over Prairie Central on Friday on the road.
JT Wheeler led the Rockets in scoring with 18 points, including one three-pointer.
Cale Shonkwiler also contributed 10 points in the Unity win.
The game was a close one, with the teams tied at 13 points each at the end of the first period. Prairie Central held a slight lead, 22-20, at halftime. The Rockets came out stronger in the second half and led 30-28 at the end of three periods. Unity outscored the Hawks 17-13 in the fourth period, led by eight points from Wheeler and six points from Shonkwiler, all from the free-throw line.
Noah Lewallen and Peyton Rigsby each had 12 points for the Hawks.
