Unity girls win Parkside Invite

The Unity Junior High School girls’ cross-country team made a major statement recently, winning the Parkside Invitational at Normal on Saturday, Sept. 9. Going against a field of 45 teams and a total of 325 runners, many from larger schools and communities, the Rockets placed their top five runners among the first 30 to cross the finish line on their way to a team score of 83 points, easily outdistancing runner-up Glenwood’s 124.
Setting the pace for Unity was sixth-grader Angelle Wrobel, who placed third overall with a time of 11 minutes, 44.3 seconds over the two-mile course at Maxwell Park in Normal.
