Unity girls win 2nd state championship

For the second time since 2015, the Unity High School girls’ cross-country team has captured the Class 1A state championship. Saturday morning at Detweiller Park in Peoria, the Rockets won the title with a team score of 108 points, just two points better that their archrivals, the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans, who scored 110 points. Illini Prairie Conference rival Monticello finished third with 181 points.
