Unity keeps running smoothly

The Unity High School cross-country program won its third state championship this fall, with coach Kara Leaman’s girls capturing a Class 1A championship on Nov. 4 to go along with the state titles won by both the girls and the boys in 2015. Meanwhile, coach Thomas Mathis’ boys squad took more strides back toward being one of the state’s top programs.
The Rocket girls, coached by Kara Leaman, won nine of their 12 meets during the season and placed second in the other three. They were able to accomplish this even though their top runner, junior Jordan Harmon, missed four meets, including the regional and sectional, with injuries.
