Community pulls out all the stops in cheering on Unity High’s first try at state title since ’09

Football fever hadn’t been as contagious in this southern Champaign County town in three years.
That’s how long it had been since Unity High School went to the state championship game in football — 2009. So there was plenty of excitement that the Rockets, on a 10-game winning streak, were going for the Class 3A title against 12-1 Aurora Christian on Friday at Memorial Stadium.
