Rockets take consolation championship at OVC Tourney

The Unity girls basketball team continued its late-season improvement last week, bouncing back from a second-round loss to Maroa-Forsyth to defeat St. Teresa and Tuscola to claim the consolation championship in the Okaw Valley Conference Tournament, hosted by the Rockets. After a 58-52 overtime loss to the Trojans dropped Unity into the consolation bracket on Saturday, Coach Kelly Gallick’s squad took on the St. Teresa Bulldogs Monday night at the Rocket Center. The Rockets opened up an 11-point lead in the third quarter, but had to hold off a St. T challenge in the final eight stanza to post a 50-44 win.
