Rockets win pair, host regional

The Unity High School girls basketball team ended its regular season on a four-game winning streak and gave their seniors a rousing send-off in their final home game. The Rockets defeated Tuscola for the second time in less than a week, celebrating Senior Night with a 38-25 victory on Monday, then wrapped up a first-division finish in the Okaw Valley Conference with a 45-31 triumph at Shelbyville on Thursday. After starting the season with a 5-7 record, coach Kelly Gallick’s Rockets have posted a 10-4 mark since Christmas and have been rewarded with the number three seed in this week’s Class 2A regional tournament at the Rocket Center.
