Unity beats Maroa, falls to Monticello in girls’ regional

The Unity High School girls’ basketball team saw its 2016-17 season come to a close last Thursday night when the Rockets lost to Monticello, 55-15, in the championship game of the Argenta-Oreana Class 2A Regional Tournament. It was the Rockets’ third loss to the Sages this season, all by margins of 35-plus points. To get to the championship game, Unity defeated Maroa-Forsyth 66-48 to assure itself of its first winning season since a 15-14 mark in 2014-15.
