Seventh-grade girls win regional, host Maroa-Forsyth in sectional

The Unity Junior High School seventh-grade girls’ basketball team will get to play one more home game this Wednesday evening when the Rockets host Maroa-Forsyth in a Class 3A sectional game at 6:30 p.m. at the Rocket Center. The Rockets earned the right to play in the sectional by winning the Hoopeston Area Regional Tournament last Thursday evening. Unity, the top seed in the regional, defeated St. Joseph, the fourth-seed, in a semi-final game Monday night, 26-16, then took care of the second-seeded Panthers of Paxton-Buckley-Loda 37-16 in the championship game.
