Maroa silences Rockets' bats

Maroa-Forsyth had not lost a game before coming to Tolono on Monday. After seven innings of play that fact had not changed as the Trojans shut out Unity, 6-0.

The Rockets' offense was held in check all game. They managed just three hits and no runs, striking out 15 times. The team had no solid base hits until the sixth inning, when Madi Clark lined a single to center field.

On the mound McKenzie Krutsinger did her best to keep Unity in the game, and pitched five innings of scoreless ball. Unfortunately, when Maroa got a rally going they made it count.

A double and a home run from the Trojans in the third put Unity in a 3-0 hole. In the top of the seventh they added three more runs on two doubles, a single and an error.

Unity (12-7, 1-4) will try to get their bats going again on Tuesday at Bismarck-Henning.
