Unity opens track season at University of Illinois Armory mini-meet

In a sign that’s just as reliable as the groundhog, the Unity High School track and field teams heralded the impending arrival of spring by participating in their first “mini-meet” at the University of Illinois Armory last Wednesday evening. Unity, along with several other area schools, come to the Armory on Wednesday nights for a series of informal, unscored meets that give athletes who are not involved in winter sports a chance to get on the track and start preparations for the upcoming season.
Last Wednesday, the Rockets, St. Thomas More, St. Joseph-Ogden, University High and Tuscola converged on the Armory.
